Niaw is 21 years old.

"When I came to Delhi I did not have any knowledge and skills. I came to know about Dorcas and I am very glad I was given a chance to learn these skills. This is the only skill I have. It is difficult to utilize my skills to earn money as I have to look after the household (as all the other family members have to go out to earn). However I am able to save money for my family as we do not need to buy clothes any more. I think we are able to save at least 1,500 - 2,000 rupees per month. (19  - 25 pounds GBP).

I did not have any formal education and I am very slow in learning, I didn't have confidence to go somewhere to work. After I completed the tailoring course it is not just my skills that has improved but it has contributed to the development of my personality. Now, I am confident to face the future. Even if I want to get married I am ready to get married. Before I had these skills, my family thought I was just good for cooking and washing, it was not good for my self-esteem."
